John was raised in Belmont and Devonport and attended  Bayswater Primary, Belmont Intermediate and Takapuna Grammar.   John is married to Maxine and they have three children, Louis, Eloise and Cortez.

John became involved at the Devonport Community Workshop after he came down to use our Festool track saw for the fit-out of his van and saw our sign - looking for volunteers.  

John is is a qualified builder and Site Manager, mostly on commercial Apaertment developments.  He is now semi-retired, working from home writing construction programs for residential building projects.

His past interests have included North Shore Civil Defence unit, where he was deployed to Christchurch for 3 weeks and as a member of Waipu Cove Surf Life Saving Club.    John also played for North Shore Rugby Club to 3rd grade.
